Sunday Cooking

Maybe I should call it Sunday prepping.  I like to cook on Sunday and make meals for lunch and dinner for the entire week.  I hate cooking every day because you end up not being able to do anything else.  Plus, if you get home late you eat something healthy and not chips and cookies.  Not that I allow myself to buy chips and cookies because I don't.  I will eat them if I buy them.

I actually kind of followed a recipe for this week.  I also cooked quinoa for the first time.  It isn't really different from cooking rice but it's a lot more nutritious.

I also made a greek salad mixture that I plan on adding to arugula or maybe just eating on it's own.

I didn't take a photo but I also diced up a pint of strawberries for my cereal in the mornings.  A little extra time on Sunday means I eat a lot better for the week.  I don't have to get up early to make sure I have time to pack a lunch.  I just grab and go.  This also means that I don't have to eat fast food that makes me feel like crap and costs too much money.

Metra Flowers

I always think of my mom when I walk by these flowers at the Metra station.  One because they are really pretty and two because you can actually smell them before you see them.  Mom is always saying "oh can you smell those flowers, they smell so good".  Yes they do.

Art Chicago Friday

Friday was a weird party for Art Chicago.  It was hosted in the clubroom for a luxury apartment building across from the street from Art Chicago.  The cool thing about the party was it was on the 28th floor and had an outside deck with a lap pool.  The uncool thing was it was freezing and the people were strange.  Oh well, free drink and a great view of the city I will never see again.  P.S. I didn't want to get really close to the railing to take photos.

Art Chicago Preview Party

April 28 was the preview party for Art Chicago.  One of the perks of working for an interior design firm is free passes and parties.  Shepard Fairey of "Hope" fame was the DJ for the Next party, which is the more cutting edge art of the show.
I have no idea what any of the following art is.  To be honest this was the second party of the evening and I had had two strong drinks with no dinner.  Lets just say I was having a good time.

Easter Sunday

A friend forced me to color eggs; I actually had a great time.  I don't think I've colored eggs in over 15 years.  I have to admit, mimosas make the project a little more fun.

Chicago Weather

Two weeks ago the weather was beautiful.  A sunny and warm 84 degrees on Sunday.  A friend and I headed down to Millennium Park to take in the day.

This week we had o.6 inch of snow on Monday.  Way to mess with me Mother Nature.  Thanks. A. Lot.

Belated Birthday Gift

For my birthday my sister sent scratch and win lotto tickets.  A super fun gift idea and I ended up with a good return on the winnings.  Small problem was that it was the Florida lottery and I live in Chicago, Illinois.  I sent the tickets back to her so she could collect the winnings.  Long story short, I received a iTunes gift card in the mail about six months after my birthday.  I was like a kid in a candy store!  I minute I had the gift card in hand I went music shopping.  Somehow I bought a Glee song without even agreeing to it.  It's not even a good Glee song but one of the original songs.  My laptop mouse makes me do things I don't want to do.  But enough about Glee, I bought some great other things that everyone should at least listen to once.

I bought the entire album
